Heideman signs with Gresham GreyWolves of West Coast League

GRESHMAN, Ore. – Concordia University Wisconsin pitcher Andrew Heideman will once again be competing in a highly competitive summer collegiate baseball league as he has signed with the Gresham GreyWolves of the West Coast League.

Heideman (Bakersfield, Calif.), who played for Klamath Falls in the West Coast League last season, is a junior pitcher for the Falcons. He was the NACC Freshman of the Year in 2014 after posting a 1.80 ERA and owns a career ERA of 3.21 over two seasons. He has 10 wins and six complete games over the past two seasons with the Falcons.

Last summer, his first in the West Coast League, he compiled a 3.28 ERA over 35.2 innings on the mound. Heideman ranked second on the Gems in ERA among pitchers who threw 15 innings or more. He played under Coach Justin Barchus last season, and Barchus will now be the head man for the GreyWolves this coming summer.

The West Coast League is one of the premier summer collegiate leagues in the country. In 2015, 25 former WCL players competed at the Major League Level, including Chris Davis of the Baltimore Orioles and Jacoby Ellsbury of the New York Yankees.
