Tatum sets school shot put record, leads Women's Track & Field Saturday

DE PERE, Wis. – Another week, another Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Track & Field thrower setting a school record. This past weekend at the Wisconsin Private College Invitational it was Karli Tatum who had a big day, with three PRs and a school record in the shot put, pacing the Falcons in competition. CUW finished fourth at the meet.

Tatum (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished third in the shot put with a new school-record toss of 12.29 meters. Her mark also ranks her second in the NACC heading into the championships this weekend. She also posted PRs in the hammer throw (40.50 meters) and the discus (27.19). Tatum ranks fifth in the NACC in the hammer now, as the Falcons have three of the top five heading into the weekend.

Colleen Sauvey (De Pere, Wis.) also posted a PR in the discus Saturday as she had a toss of 31.74 meters. Sauvey also had her best time in the 100-meter dash, running a 13.56. Tatiana March (Janesville, Wis.) also ran a new best in the 100, coming in at 13.69.

Ariana Koehler (Lake Geneva, Wis.) threw 22.80 meters in the javelin for a PR, while Alisa Dorothy (Waukesha, Wis.) set a new personal-best height in the pole vault, clearing 2.64 meters. Chloe Bachman added a PR in the long jump, leaping 4.23 meters and rounding out the Falcons new best distances in the field events.

On the track, Hannah Erl (Wauwatosa, Wis.) ran a new best time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Erl came across the finish line in 13:45.22. Jessica Rice (Canton, Mich.) also had a new best time on Saturday, running the 800 in 2:33.65.

The Falcons will be back in action this weekend at the NACC Championships Friday and Saturday. The meet, which is hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College, will begin at 9:30 on Friday morning.
