Kassees breaks school hammer throw record for third time this season

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – For the third time this season, Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Track & Field senior Andrea Kassees has set the school's weight throw record. Kassees accomplished the feat once again at the Dr. Keeler Invitational, hosted by North Central College Thursday.

Kassees, who placed 10th in the event that included Division I student-athletes, set the mark on her final throw of the day. She actually broke the record on her second throw as well, recording 44.06 meters, but would go on the shatter than mark with a toss of 44.96 meters in her final attempt of three throws.

Kassees was one of just two Falcons competing Thursday, as several others will take part in the meet on Friday. In addition to her, junior Karli Tatum (Milwaukee, Wis.) added an impressive PR in the hammer throw as well. Tatum landed a toss of 41.89 meters, which was all over a full meter greater than her previous best.

Kassees also competed in the discus throw on and posted a mark of 38.30 meters.
