Falcons overwhelm Eagles, clinch No. 1 seed in NACC Tournament

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin put together a 15-0 scoring run in the opening quarter and pulled away for an overwhelming 80-39 against Edgewood in a NACC contest on Wednesday night inside the R. John Buuck Field House. The win, coupled with a Benedictine loss, gives the Falcons the No. 1 seed in the NACC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin found itself down 4-2 a minute into the ballgame before putting together a 15-0 scoring run in the next six-and-a-half minutes to pull away and never look back. The Falcons scored 20-plus points in the first three quarters of the victory.
- The hosts ended with seven 3-pointers and a decisive 26-7 advantage in points off turnovers. The Falcons also had a 46-4 difference in bench production.
- Junior Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) had a team-high 13 points and nine rebounds, while freshman Kelsey Birschbach (Fond du Lac, Wis.) tallied 10 points and season-highs in rebounds (seven) and steals (three).
- Freshman Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) had a season-high 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting, to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Freshman Arianna Liddicoat (Watertown, Wis.) dished out a season-best three assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Concordia Wisconsin clinches the top seed in the postseason for the fifth time and twice before they have won the NACC Tournament Championship.
- The win is the 20th this season for the Falcons and it's the sixth time in head coach Stacey Brunner-Jones' tenure they have achieved the feat.
- Freshman MaKayla Wolfe (Montreal, Wis.) knocked down a pair of 3-pointers for the second game in a row. In all, six Falcons made a shot from deep.
- The Falcons dished out 21 assists and it's the third time they have 20 or more assists in a contest. They also had eight turnovers and it was the fourth time they committed single-digit errors in a game.

THE OPPOSITION
- Cali Tweet paced all scorers with 15 points, while Marissa Hoyer had 13 points and nine rebounds.
