WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES TO CONSIDER     MEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES TO CONSIDER
• NACC OPPONENTS FOR A WHILE: After three-consecutive non-conference games to begin the season, Concordia Wisconsin is prepared to defend its NACC regular season title on Saturday against Marian. The game will be the first of 13 in a row for the Falcons in league play.     • EXPERIENCING IT ALL: Concordia Wisconsin has experienced all different kinds of results this season, a blowout victory in the season-opener, a tough road loss and a thrilling late game victory. It's early in the season, but hopefully over the course of the next month things will settle down and we can find out what kind of teams the Falcons really are.
• DECLAWING THE SABRES: The Falcons own the series against the Sabres with a 27-9 record since 1997. Moreso, they have dominated Marian by the tune of a 17-2 record during the NACC era. Over the last 10 games, CUW has won by an average of 11.2 points.     • JURSS, KITTEL, ERICKSON LAUNCHING: Jake Jurss, Eric Kittel and Josh Erickson have taken their share of 3-point attempts this season, combining for 66 attempts from 21 feet and beyond. Jurss leads the Falcons with 12 triples, while Kittel and Erickson aren't far behind with eight and five long balls drained.
• DELONG BECOMING A FORCE: Senior Taylor DeLong has proved to be a force for the Falcons this season. The forward is scoring 14.0 points on 66.7 percent shooting and grabbing 5.0 rebounds in just 20.3 minutes off the bench. Her field goal shooting percentage currently ranks second in the NACC.     • TENETTE GETTING INTO THE ACTION: Isaiah Tenette hasn't been with the team long; one because of his freshman status and the other reason because he joined the team following the conclusion of the football season. During the Falcons exhilarating 80-78 victory over Marian on Tuesday, he was on the court in the final minutes, which shows how much the coaching staff trusts him.
• NACC PRESEASON PREDICTIONS: Concordia Wisconsin received 10 first-place votes and was chosen to finish second, while Marian was selected to place 10th in the 12 team conference. The Falcons won the NACC regular season title last year with a 17-3 record.     • GOSSE GIVING HUSTLE: Jared Gosse hasn't gotten many minutes on the court during his career, but when he does there is always a hustle play involved. The forward had a career game on Tuesday with 12 points and eight rebounds in just 20 minutes of action.
• TAKING ADVANTAGE OF TURNOVERS: Every team develops tendencies throughout the season and the Falcons are making a habit of scoring often when the opposition turns the ball over. They are averaging 21.3 points off turnovers, as opponents average 21.7 turnovers, which is nearly a point per turnover forced.     • OUR HOME COURT: Concordia Wisconsin has been quite successful over the past two-plus seasons against NACC foes during the regular season inside the R. John Buuck Field House. They have posted a 15-7 record, which includes a seven-game winning streak. During that stretch, they have won by an average of 16 points.
• FALCONS MUST SLOW PAULUS: Concordia Wisconsin must concentrate its defensive efforts on slowing Nicole Paulus, who has scored 39 of Marian's 109 points scored (35.8 percent of Sabres production).
