Around the arc: Falcons vs. Warriors in battle of top NACC programs

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin and Wisconsin Lutheran square off in a mid-season NACC matchup of two teams ranked atop the standings at 7 pm inside the R. John Buuck Field House on Wednesday night.

NEWSWORTHY NOTES
- INTENSITY WILL BE HIGH: The intensity inside the R. John Buuck Field House will be at a season-high on Wednesday because Concordia Wisconsin and Wisconsin Lutheran sit atop the NACC standings. The win will be huge for the victor, as it will be important come the end of the season when the tournament standings shake out.
- CUW HAS MOMENTUM: Both teams enter Wednesday night on a three-game winning streak, but an important note to look at is past matchups. The Falcons have won the last three meetings against the Warriors, including a buzzer-beating jumper and free throw by assistant coach Madelyn Landgraf. At the time, the win moved Concordia Wisconsin into sole possession of first place in the NACC standings.
- BLISSETT ON POINT: Samantha Blissett on been point directing the offense as of late, with 16 assists and just two turnovers during the last three games. This season has a 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio, which ranks sixth in the NACC.
- SCHARMER SHINING: Audrey Scharmer is having the best season of her career thus far, scoring 8.3 points and grabbing 7.5 rebounds. The forward has three double-doubles this season and six double-figure scoring games.
- 3-BALL IS IMPORTANT: The 3-pointer could be the difference, as Concordia Wisconsin has the second-best defense when defending the deep ball (24.0 percent) and Wisconsin Lutheran boasts the best long ball shooting team in the NACC (31.7 percent).
- GETTING DEFENSIVE: The Falcons are on pace to set single-season records for scoring defense (50.8), defensive FG percentage (36.4) and defensive 3-point FG percentage (24.0).
