Courtside Notes: Basketball looks to dim Stars light in NACC DH

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin's Men's and Women's Basketball host Dominican on Saturday at 2 and 4:15 pm in a NACC doubleheader inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES TO CONSIDER			MEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES TO CONSIDER
• DON'T COME INTO OUR HOUSE: CUW has always played well inside the R. John Buuck Field House during Stacey Brunner-Jones' tenure. They are 3-0 this season and have a 10-game regular season winning streak, which dates back to January 19 of last season. During that stretch, they have outscored opponents by 16.9 points.			• WINNING IN THE NACC: Concordia Wisconsin is off to a 3-0 start in NACC play, which is the best start since the 2010-11 season when they won the league's regular season with the first undefeated record (16-0). The Falcons are shooting 46.4 percent and knocking down an average of 9.3 long balls in those three league victories.
• GIVE ME THE BALL: The Falcons began the season uncharacteristically off when talking aboMen'ut their rebounding totals. A team that is usually on the positive side of the rebounding margin, didn't win the statistic in the first three games of the season. However, the last two games they have outrebounded foes by a combined +38 margin. On Wednesday they pulled down 55 rebounds (22 offensive), which was tied for the fourth most rebounds in a game in program history.			• FRATZKE COMING INTO FORM: A season ago Andrew Fratzke played 11 minutes a game and averaged 3.8 points and 2.6 rebounds. He had flashes of being a quality starter, but was still learning the collegiate game. This season, however, is a different story as the 6-foot-8 forward is the main piece for the Falcons around the basket. Fratzke is scoring 8.4 points and grabbing 7.6 rebounds in just over 24 minutes per game.
• 17-STRAIGHT AND COUNTING: Concordia Wisconsin has won 17-straight over Dominican dating back to 2006 and during that span have outscored the Stars by an average of 23.9 points. CUW has scored over 80 points seven times during the past decade and held the Stars to under 50 points in eight contests.			• FALCONS NEED FEWER TURNOVERS: They are averaging 14.2 turnovers per game, which is higher than the 13.2 (2015-16)and 12.1 (2014-15) from the last two seasons.
• NEARLY PERFECT FROM THE LINE: Baylee Barker has struggled at times to shoot the basketball this season, but has been nearly perfect from the free throw line making 12-of-14 attempts. She was 6-of-6 in the season opener and 6-of-7 in the Falcons victory on Wednesday over CUC.			• A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME: Remember now, we are just five games into the season, but it is worth mentioning that CUW has the 78th easiest schedule for future opponents, according to the NCAA. While it isn't a true indication of how many games the Falcons will win or lose, it does give fans optimism over the next three months.
• SCORING OFF MISTAKES: A lot of teams force turnovers, but if you can't score off those mistakes it feels like a wasted possession. That isn't the case for CUW who is forcing 19.2 turnovers per game and averaging 17.6 points on the other end of the court.			• KITTEL'S THE TOP DOG: Eric Kittel has had an outstanding career to date and during the Falcons victory over Concordia Chicago he made history. The senior guard is now the program's all-time leader in 3-point field goals made and games started during the NCAA era. Kittel has 202 career 3-pointers and is inching closer to Mike McQueen who sits atop the statistical category with 231 long balls made.
