No. 16 Winona State defeats Women's Basketball

WINONA, Minn. – No. 16 Winona State used its size and strength on both ends of the court on Tuesday evening for a 68-40 victory over Concordia Wisconsin in non-conference action. The Warriors outscored the Falcons 20-7 in the second period to pull away.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A 10-minute stretch that saw Winona State make 9-of-16 field goals and Concordia Wisconsin struggle by making 2-of-11, pushed all the momentum in favor of the hosts. The Warriors scored 10 points in the paint during the period and turned an eight-point lead into a 21-point advantage by halftime.
- The Falcons couldn't do much in the painted area, scoring just 18 points, while the Warriors tallied 32 points around the bucket. Winona State also finished with a 27-14 difference in bench production.
- Junior Brianna Wagner (Fond du Lac, Wis.) had a team-high 14 points, to go along with five rebounds and two assists. Junior Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) made a trip back to her hometown and scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds.
- Sophomore Baylee Barker (Oconomowoc, Wis.) had six points off the bench, while senior Taylor DeLong (Milwaukee, Wis.) added five points and four rebounds.

- The Falcons will enter a stretch of 13-straight NACC matchups.

THE OPPOSITION
- Tara Roelofs led all players with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while also dishing out five assists.
- Liz Evenocheck scored nine points, all on 3-point makes. Jenny Weiland had eight points and seven rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin hosts Marian on Saturday at 2 pm in the first stage of a NACC doubleheader.
