Falcons overwhelm Eagles in road NACC victory

MADISON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin outscored Edgewood 43-17 in the middle quarters on Thursday before eventually winning 74-49 in the NACC game inside the Todd Wehr Edgedome. The Falcons made a season-high 10 3-pointers and scored 30 points off turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood played well against Concordia Wisconsin in the opening quarter and trailed only by two points before the flood gates opened and the game got out of control for the hosts. The Falcons went on a 13-0 scoring run to begin the second period and an 11-0 scoring run after the intermission to take complete control of the league matchup.
- Many areas contributed to the victory; including a season-high 10 3-pointers, 30 points off turnovers and 21 seconds chance points.
- Sophomore Baylee Barker (Oconomowoc, Wis.) had a career game with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting and made a career-best five long balls. As well, freshman Arianna Liddicoat (Watertown, Wis.) broke out of a long shooting slump with a season-high 14 points, which included four 3-pointers.
- The Falcons turned 17 offensive rebounds into 21 points, which included 12 of those points scored in the second and third quarters combined when they stretched the lead to 20-plus points.
- Concordia Wisconsin also forced 19 Edgewood turnovers and converted those errors into 30 points, of which 22 were scored in the middle periods of the victory.
- Junior Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) recorded 10 points in 13 minutes of play, while senior Taylor DeLong had nine points, eight rebounds and a career-high four steals.
- Freshman Kaitlyn Foster () hauled in four rebounds and stole a pair of passes, while junior Kelsey Mazur (Reedsburg, Wis.) dished out a trio of assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 25-point victory was the five this season by at least 20 points.
- Barker's five 3-pointers were one shy of tying the program's game record and her 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from long range was the third highest ever in a game.
- The Falcons 10 triples are tied for the third-most in a single game in program history.
- Neither team shot well from the free throw line, as they were a combined 9-of-28.
- Concordia Wisconsin stole a season-high-tying 14 passes.
- Senior Samantha Blissett (Springfield, Ill.) dished out six assists and now has 20 assists and eight turnovers in the past four games.

THE OPPOSITION
- Allison Gordon was the bright spot for the Eagles with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
- Marissa Hoyer tallied 10 points, while MacKenzie Meyer had three assists and three steals.
