Women's Tennis falls to Dubuque
MADISON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin won a pair of singles matches and captured the No. 1 doubles match, but the University of Dubuque would claim a 6-3 non-conference victory on Saturday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
Senior Jaclyn Ward (Franklin, Wis.) and freshman Amanda Ropiak (Greenfield, Wis.) each won their singles matches to claim a pair of points for CUW. Ward defeated her opponent in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. Ropiak needed extra points to earn her win, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.
During doubles play the duo of senior Julie Spransy (Brown Deer, Wis.) and Ward downed the Spartans No. 1 doubles pairing by an 8-4 score.
CUW (10-9) returns to the court on Saturday, Apr. 20 for a pair of matches against St. Norbert College and Beloit College.
