Women's Lacrosse loses MWLC contest at Aurora

MONTGOMERY, Ill. -- Aurora began the game with six-consecutive goals, which was too much to overcome on a windy Wednesday afternoon, as Concordia Wisconsin lost 17-8 during an MWLC contest at Spartan Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aurora scored almost six minutes into the game and added five more of the next 14 minutes to build a 6-0 advantage. Concordia Wisconsin's seniors Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) and Lauren Paquin (Waukesha, Wis.) scored back-to-back goals, while freshman Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) also scored before halftime.
- However, the Spartans led 7-3 at the intermission after holding a 21-15 shots advantage and forcing 21 Falcons turnovers.
- The final 30 minutes of action was nearly a replica of the first, as Aurora scored 10 goals compared to Concordia Wisconsin's five. Paquin netted four and Kennedy found the back of the net once in the second half.
- Paquin also had four ground balls, seven draw controls and two caused turnovers. Kennedy assisted on a pair of goals, while McPike picked up seven ground balls and won six draw controls.
- Senior Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.) continues her impressive season on the defensive end of the field with nine ground balls and five caused turnovers. Freshman Kinsey Weyer (Stillwater, Minn.) made 12 saves in goal.
- Kristina Krokosz had five goals and Claire Carlson scored four for the Spartans. Reilly Armstrong had six saves in goal.

GAME NOTES
- Concordia Wisconsin scored twice on free-position attempts and Aurora was 5-of-9.
- The Falcons won the battle on draw controls, holding a 16-11 lead at the final horn.
