Paquin sets records, Women's Lacrosse stays in MWLC playoff hunt

MONMOUTH, Ill. -- Lauren Paquin set a few more program records on Saturday afternoon, as Concordia Wisconsin jumped out to an early lead and controlled the rest of the game before winning 20-11 at Monmouth during MWLC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Paquin (senior, Waukesha, Wis.) set the program's game record with 12 points (eight assists, four assists), tied the game record with eight goals and set the career record for shots on goal (325). The prolific scorer also tied the career record for free-position goals with 31.
- Freshman Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) was doing the heavy lifting early on with four of the first seven Falcons goals, as they led 7-2 midway through the opening half. Paquin scored four times and had three assists by halftime, which helped Concordia Wisconsin own n 11-4 advantage.
- The midfielder/attacker added four more goals int he first 13 minutes of the second half to help the Falcons increase their lead to 17-6 and initiate the running clock rule for a short period of time.
- McPike finished with five goals, one assist, four ground balls, six draw controls and three caused turnovers.
- Senior Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.) recorded two goals, three assists, four ground balls, four draw controls and four caused turnovers.
- Senior Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) tallied a hat trick, to go along with a pair of assists. Junior Jenny Quinn (Elmhurst, Ill.) recorded three caused turnovers.
- Freshman Kinsey Weyer (Stillwater, Minn.) made seven saves, while sophomore Mallory Gurin (Westfield, Ind.) had three saves.
- Kara-Jade Gordon led Monmouth with seven goals and eight draw controls. Olivia Matlock made 16 saves in goals for the Scots.

GAME NOTES
- It was the second time this season and the second time in the last three games the Falcons have scored 20 points.
- The Falcons currently sit in fourth place with a 9-2 lead record, with the top four teams making the MWLC Tournament.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin closes out the regular season with back-to-back games on Saturday against Augsburg at 11 am and on Sunday against Hamline at 1 pm.
