Paquin scores seven as Women’s Lacrosse takes down Wartburg

MEQUON, Wis. – Lauren Paquin scored seven goals to lead Concordia Wisconsin to a 14-5 win over Wartburg on Saturday. 

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Paquin (Waukesha, Wis.) and Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) scored back-to-back to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead at the start of the match.
-After the Knights got on the board with a goal with 23:42 left in the first, Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.) scored to regain the two-goal lead for the Falcons.
-Wartburg answered with two consecutive goals to even the score at 3-3.
-With 4:37 remaining in the first half, Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) scored to regain the lead for the Falcons, a lead they would not relinquish.
-Paquin added her second goal of the match 24 seconds before the half to give CUW a 5-3 lead.
-In the second half, Paquin continued to power the Falcons offense with two consecutive goals in the first three minutes to increase the CUW lead to 7-3.
-Wartburg managed to score their fourth goal two minutes later, but Paquin answered with another pair of goals to set the score at 9-4 with 23:25 remaining in regulation.
-Jenny Quinn (Elmhurst, Ill.) and McPike followed Paquin with two more CUW goals to run the score up to 11-4.
-The Knights added their fifth and final goal with 9:57 remaining, but the Falcons scored thrice more off the sticks to Paquin, Sarah Pearson (South Range, Wis.), and McPike to put the game away with a 14-5 final.
-Kinsey Weyer (Stillwater, Minn.) had 12 saves in goal for the Falcons.
