HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons were looking to get off to a quick start against No.3 Adrian, and they did just that when Lexi Holman (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) was able to get the puck past Bulldog goalie Kate Turner to make the score 1-0 only 7:41 into the first period. Adrian bounced back however, putting home a power-play goal with under two minutes remaining in the opening period to go into intermission with a 1-1 tie.
- After the break, the Bulldogs came out aggressive and ready to score. 50 seconds into the second period Jaqueline White scored making the lead 2-1 in favor of Adrian. Two minutes later Olivia Fox found the back of the net to open up the lead to two goals and put the pressure on CUW. Concordia Wisconsin continued to fight but Fox was able to put Adrian up 4-1 with a goal in the 16th minute.
- The final period of play saw another goal from the Bulldogs as Rose Krasofsky was able to extend the lead to 5-1 where it would stay for the rest of the contest. Breanna Thomson (St. Marys, Ontario) made 43 saves on the night in 60 minutes of play. Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) recorded an assist along with Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario). CUW had four penalties for eight total minutes, and 11 total shots on goal.
