Holman ties career goals mark in Falcons setback at St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. – Lexi Holman scored her record-tying 36th career goal but it was not enough as the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team fell 4-1 Saturday against St. Scholastica. Holman is now tied with Sarah Luberda for most goals in Falcons history after her power play score Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Holman (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) goal came 6:16 into the final period with the Falcons trailing 3-0. Jossa Danis (Brandon, Manitoba) and Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) assisted on the power play goal. The Falcons finished the game 1-for-5 on the power play.

- The Saints built a 3-0 lead after two periods of play thanks in large part to a pair of power play goals by Mac Johnson. Johnson got the scoring started with 1:41 left in the opening period and added her second goal 13:37 into the second. In between those two scores was a goal from Abby Sawyer 9:25 into the second period. The Saints ended Saturday 2-for-7 on the power play.

- St. Scholastica capped off the scoring with 4:11 left to play on a goal off the stick of Giorgia Battisti.

- Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) finished the game with 26 saves. Lexi Thomeczek made 29 stops for the Saints as each team finished the game with 30 shots on goal.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Holman's goal was also the 12th power play goal of her career, adding to her program record. She has three power play scores this season.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons will return home next weekend for an NCHA series against Finlandia. The opener is set for Friday night with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
