Heckendorf's hat trick nets NCHA Offensive Player of the Week honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin senior Emily Heckendorf was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Women's Offensive Player of the Week for the events of February 9-15, the league office announced Tuesday.

Heckendorf (Merrill, Wis.) has been on fire as of late and it continued last weekend against Marian. The senior netted the second career hat trick in program history in a 4-3 win Friday night. She followed that performance with a two-point effort (one goal, one assist) in a 4-4 tie Saturday.

The Falcons are unbeaten in their last six games, which is a new program record, and Heckendorf has played an important role in that streak. She has a point in five straight games, with a total of 10 during the six-game unbeaten stretch. Heckendorf leads the Falcons with 22 points this season.

Heckendorf and the Falcons close out their regular season slate this weekend with a pair of league road games. CUW visits Lake Forest Friday night before taking on No. 4 Adrian on Saturday.
