Emily Hafemann Voted CSC Academic All-American

MEQUON, Wis. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its 2022-23 Women's Basketball Academic All-America Teams on Wednesday morning. Senior Emily Hafemann was voted to the Women's Basketball Academic All-America Second Team.

A senior guard from Hales Corners, Wisconsin, Emily Hafemann is claiming the honor for the second time in her career. She also claimed the honor for the 2020-21 season.

Hafemann has a perfect 4.00 grade-point average in her MBA Healthcare Administration program. She also had a 4.00 grade-point average in her undergraduate career.

"It is hard to explain how impressed I am of Emily," said head coach Stacey Brunner-Jones. "To repeat as an Academic All-American is a huge accomplishment. How she handled being our best player, having a 4.0 grade-point average in graduate school, while being a full-time nurse is remarkable. I will miss coaching her and have missed seeing her every day. She has made such an incredible impact in our program and that will be felt for a very long time."

In February, she claimed CSC Academic All-District honors for the third time in her career. She also claimed the title in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.

The Wisconsin native dominated the court this year and was honored with First Team All-Conference honors from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

Hafemann finished the season with 430 points, 146 rebounds, 93 assists, 22 steals and five blocks. This is the third time that Emily Hafemann has claimed the honor. Also doing so in 2020 and 2021.

She also reached the 30-point mark on two separate occasions in the year in victories over Benedictine and Lakeland.

Emily Hafemann joins the elite duo of Jordan Johnson of the men's basketball program and Kelsey Bollon of the softball program as the only individuals in school history to have multiple CSC Academic All-American honors.

Hafemann also joins Lexi Dellinger of Anderson, Claire Brock of Emory, Olivia Parisi of Johns Hopkins and Gabby Timmer of Calvin as repeat honorees.

The Concordia guard is the only Division III selection that boasts a perfect undergraduate and graduate school grade-point average. Five selections did have a 4.00 undergraduate grade-point average.

The 2022-23 Academic All-American® Women's Basketball Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
