Falcons Flourish in Fourth Quarter

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's basketball team ended their matchup with a fourth-quarter bang when they took down the WLC Warriors away from the nest Wednesday night.

The matchup was neck and neck coming out of the first quarter with a score of 14-12 in favor of the Warriors. Senior Reagan Obry (Neenah, Wis.) led the Blue and White offensive effort with seven of their 12 points.

The second quarter saw more of the same with the Warriors pushing out two more points ahead. 

Senior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) put up six of the 20 Falcon points in the quarter.

The Falcons were down four points heading into the break.

The third quarter saw more of Emily Hafemann with nine points and one board.

The Falcons stared a six-point deficit in the face heading into the final frame.

The Blue and White stifled the Warrior offense and held them to 10 points, their lowest quarter of the matchup while putting up 22 of their own. Hafemann kept cooking with 12 points in the fourth to finish the 67-62 victory with a 27-point night. She added eight rebounds and two assists.

The birds were 14-16 from the free throw line and 7-15 from the three-point line.

The flock with compete inside the nest on Saturday when they take on the Rockford Regents at 4:15 pm.
