MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons fell short in the first game of 2023 on Wednesday evening. The Muskies picked up a 58-42 victory to send the Falcons to 5-6 and to 4-2 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
The Falcons started the game with a layup from freshman Ava Booth (Plymouth, Wis.) with a made layup.
Junior Lily Guerra (Yorkville, Ill.) drained a three-point basket to give the Falcons a 5-4 lead, but that turned out to be the final lead of the evening.
The Muskies took a 17-11 lead into the second quarter.
The Muskies elevated the lead to 16 points at one point in the second quarter and took a 33-20 lead into halftime.
The Falcons used a 4-0 run to start off the third quarter and a layup from Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) cut the deficit to 33-24.
Emily Hafemann finished with a game-high 13 points. She also added six rebounds.
Junior Erin Viergutz (Clintonville, Wis.) led the Concordia rebounding effort with eight.
The birds look to bounce back on Saturday at Concordia Chicago.
