Spartans Stop Men's Soccer

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer team hosted the Spartans of Aurora on Saturday in the first home Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match of the year. The Spartans sent the Falcons to 0-4-2 on the year with the 1-0 result.

The Spartans had the first shot of the afternoon with a shot in the third minute, but junior Enrique Torres (Eau Claire, Wis.) was up to the task.

In the 13th minute, senior Alishan Sharipov (Krasnodar, Russia) had the lone shot on the net for the Falcons of the match.

The two teams went into halftime tied at zero, with Aurora holding an 11-2 advantage in shots.

The Spartans broke through in the 69th minute for the lone goal of the contest.

Enrique Torres finished the match with eight saves.

Aurora held a 27-4 advantage in shots.
