Eagles Pull Away From Falcons

LISLE, Ill. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's soccer team fell to the Benedictine University Eagles, 0-2, in their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) season opener on Wednesday, bringing their overall record to 0-3-2.

The first half ended in a scoreless tie, with both teams struggling to create scoring opportunities. Freshman Harris Burgos (Milwaukee, Wis.) recorded the Falcons' only shot on goal in the ninth minute.

The second half mirrored the first 35 minutes, as neither team managed to generate significant offensive chances. Both defenses held strong, thwarting potential threats.

However, in the 80th minute, the Eagles earned a penalty kick after a foul in the box, which they converted to take the lead. Just five minutes later, they sealed the match with a second goal in the 85th minute, dashing the Falcons' hopes for a comeback.

In the loss, both Harris Burgos and sophomore Vladimir Campos (Milwaukee, Wis.) contributed with two shots each. Defensively, junior goalkeeper Enrique Torres (Eau Claire, Wis.) made three saves during his first career start and 90 minutes in goal.

The Falcons will look to bounce back in their next conference match against the Aurora Spartans at Fitting Field on Saturday.
