Falcons drop 3-2 decision to #1 Domincan

River Forest, Il

For the third time this season Concordia (12-6-3) stood toe-toe with one of the Nation's top teams, but for the first time CUW did not come out with a tie.

Host Dominican (17-1-1) broke a 2-2 stalemate in the 52nd minute and ended the Falcon men's soccer season in the NAC tournament semi-finals.

Dominican scored the first two goals of the match, with those coming in rapid fire succesion at 38:48 and 41:57.

It appeared that Tom Saleska's team was down and out, espeecially since DU had allowed only 5 goals all season.

Such was not the case, however, as Concordia's Tyler Harris knocked home a Victor Mendoz pass just before the break to provide some hope.

Then just three minutes into the second half Jacob Pope was able to tie the score for CUW and strike fear into the Stars.

Unfortunately perenially powerful Dominican was equal to the challenge and Kyle Boekeloo provided the game-winner to end CUW's upset dream.
