BELOIT, Wis. – The CUW men's lacrosse team traveled to Beloit on Monday for a make-up game that was snowed out on April 2.

The Falcons started boiling hot with a 6-0 first quarter that saw four separate goal scorers with two others notching assists.

Senior Keijo Day (Esko, Minn.) recorded the first goal of the matchup just under ten minutes into the matchup. Freshman Chase Drexler (Vernon Hills, Ill.) joined the point party with a goal just 14 seconds later off the stick of senior Chris Smith (South Elgin, Ill.).

The Blue and White took the 3-0 lead off the stick of freshman Gio Nowotarski (Reading, Pa.).

Drexler and Day connected with two and a half minutes left in the first quarter to take the four-goal lead.

Freshman Max Esposito (Gaithersburg, Ma.) dished out an assist to Chase Drexler for Drexler's second goal of the matchup and the 5-0 lead. The final Falcon goal came from freshman Pat Ryan (Western Springs, Ill.) with 15 seconds left.

Senior Kyle Fuller (Roseville, Minn.) pushed the Falcons out by seven with the first goal of the second quarter off an assist from Nowotarski.

Beloit scored their only goal of the half four minutes later.

Four more Falcon goals fell in the rest of the quarter. Drexler recorded a hat trick with 5:25 left in the half off the stick of Day who recorded his first assist.

Sophomore Isaac Ober (Huntley, Ill.) pushed the Falcons back to an eight-goal lead with an unassisted goal in the second quarter.

Esposito and Day linked up for the tenth Falcon goal of the evening and Drexler finished off the quarter with his fourth goal.

It was all Falcons in the third quarter with four more goals. Sophomore Adam Verner (Portage, Mich.) got the quarter started with a goal that was assisted by Drexler.

Day pushed the Falcon lead to 13 with a pair of goals. Esposito assisted on the first and the second was unassisted.

Chris Smith netted his first goal of the game and his second point off the stick of freshman Hans Milchling (Cockeysville, Md.).

The teams split the fourth quarter with each team netting a goal. Beloit started first, but the Falcons ended the matchup with the final goal from junior Matthew Sierzega (Grayslake, Ill.) with an assist from freshman Alejandro Wundrock (West Bend, Wis.).

Both Day and Drexler led the Falcon offense with four goals and two assists each.

Junior Noah Brandt (Owatonna, Minn.) dominated the faceoff with 20 faceoff wins out of the 21 he took part in.

The Falcons look to use this momentum when they head to Marian on Wednesday.
