Men's Lacrosse cruises to victory at Alma

ALMA, Mich. – Three players scored two goals apiece for Concordia University Wisconsin as it cruised to an 8-2 non-conference men's lacrosse victory at Alma College on Sunday afternoon.

The Falcons led 3-0 at halftime and increased their lead to 6-1 after 45 minutes of action at Bahlke Field to win its second-consecutive game, both on the road. CUW (3-2) outshot AC (2-3) by a 33-17 margin and forced 26 turnovers.

Junior Sam Wladyka (Winnipeg, Manitoba), sophomore Matt Larsen (Gurnee, Ill.) and freshman Matt Garvey (Winnipeg, Manitoba) each found the back of the net twice. Garvey's two goals were the first of his career. Junior Zack Davis (LaPorte, Ind.) recorded six saves between the pipe.

Marshall Argenta tallied the only two goals for the Scots and Jonathan Lindback assisted on one of the scores. Daric Mueller made 11 saves in goal, including six in the second period.

Wladyka opened the game with a goal two minutes and 30 seconds in to the contest. Larsen followed with two-straight goals to build CUW's advantage to 3-0 heading into halftime.

Argenta scored his first goal less than three minutes into the third period, before the Falcons rattled off five more goals to take an 8-1 lead. Argenta added a man-up goal with just over a minute to play in the contest. The Falcons committed four of the five penalties in the game.

CUW will have a short turnaround before its next game on Wednesday at Elmhurst College at 4 p.m. at Langhorst Field. The Bluejays are a first-year program and have had two games already cancelled because of weather and field conditions.
