MEQUON, Wis. – Head coach Jeff Roberts released a difficult 2013 Concordia University Wisconsin men's lacrosse schedule on Thursday, which is highlighted by seven-consecutive road games to begin the season, six home games and two non-conference games against NCAA Tournament opponents.

The schedule features 17 games in all – six at home and 11 on the road – with seven contests against non-conference opponents and nine against Midwest Lacrosse Conference foes. Overall, the Falcons will travel an estimated 5,900 miles this season.

CUW begins the season with back-to-back games at Calvin College (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Ohio Wesleyan University (Delaware, Ohio) on February 22 and 23. It will be the first-ever meeting with the Knights, who are entering their first year as an NCAA affiliated program with the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

The Battling Biships, who compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference, downed the Falcons last season, 17-5, in a Feb. matchup. OWU earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament and finished the season with an 11-5 overall record.

A nearly 1,000-mile trip awaits CUW on March 1 as they travel for a non-conference game at Denison University (Granville, Ohio). It will be the first meeting between the two schools. The Big Red won the NCAC via their 5-0 record and earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament. DU would win its first two games, 12-11 and 10-5, before falling in the quarterfinals against Stevenson University, 7-4, to end with a 15-2 overall record.

CUW continues its seven-game road trip with back-to-back games on Mar. 9 and 10 at Albion College (Albion, Mich.) and Alma College (Alma, Mich.). The Falcons hold a 2-1 record against the Britons and defeated the Scots last season, 21-3, in an April matchup.

Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, Ill.), a new member to the MLC, will host CUW on Mar. 13 to begin the conference portion of the schedule. Last season the Falcons finished in a tie for fourth place in the league with a 5-4 record.

The nearly month long, grueling road swing ends with a conference game at Fontbonne University (St. Louis, Mo.) on Mar. 16. Last season CUW defeated the Griffins, 12-10, in crucial MLC game in St. Louis, Mo.

Finally, the Falcons host their first opponent at Fitting Field on Mar. 20 with a non-conference matchup against Beloit College (Beloit, Wis.). The 2013 campaign will be the first for the Buccaneers.

CUW travels to Colorado College (Colorado Springs, Colo.) on Mar. 27 for its spring trip game, which will be the longest, single road trip of the season.

The Falcons turn their attention to winning the MLC with the final seven games of their season. CUW hosts a pair of contests on April 6 and 7 against Hanover College (Hanover, Ind.) and Defiance College (Defiance, Ohio), respectively. CUW defeated the Panthers, 15-4, during the first matchup between the two teams last season. DC will be competing as an NCAA varsity program for the first time in 2013.

CUW returns to the road for three games beginning on Apr. 10 at Aurora University (Aurora, Ill.). The Falcons also travel to the College of Mount St. Joseph (Cincinnati, Ohio) on Apr. 14 prior to playing MLC-rival Carthage College (Kenosha, Wis.) on Apr. 17. The Falcons lost to the Spartans last season, 20-8, on the road, but fell to CMSJ, 15-10, at home. CUW defeated the Redmen 10-6, in an exciting – but horrible weather – victory at Fitting Field.

A tro of home games will end CUW's regular season on Apr. 20 versus Benedictine University (Lisle, Ill.), Apr. 24 against MSOE (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Apr. 27 versus Augustana College (Augustana, Ill.). The Falcons will play BU for the first time as they are a new NCAA Division III program, but hold a combined 4-0 record against their final two opponents of the season.
