Clemins wins medalist honors, Men's Golf takes Forester Spring Invitational

MEQUON, Wis. – P.J. Clemins was dialed in on Sunday afternoon at White Deer Run Golf Club, earning medalist honors, while Concordia University Wisconsin captured the team title at the Forester Spring Invitational.

Clemins (Cedarburg, Wis.) is starting to make a name for himself, in just his fifth competitive collegiate round of his career. The rookie fired a program record 2-under par 70 to win medalist honors by two shots over his teammate, sophomore Evan Rabas (Sherwood, Wis.) who had an E-par 72.

The Falcons also received a 4-over par 76 from junior Bill Jones (New Holstein, Wis.) and an 84 by sophomore Nolan Dahlberg (Beloit, Wis.) for the team's first title in recent memory. Their 302 team total was also a program record. Jones also holed his first ace as a Falcon. The team is beginning to peak at the right time, as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship (54 hole event) is scheduled for April 19-20.

Meanwhile, junior Mike Loftus (Germantown, Wis.) and freshman Kyle Rebholz (West Bend, Wis.) each competed as individuals and fired a 5-over par 77 round to place in a tie for 10th place. In each event this this weekend, the Falcons had at least four individuals shoot rounds in the 70s. As well, senior Chris Payne (Waukesha, Wis.) shot an 85.

CUW returns to the course for its final tune up before the NACC Championship with the Elmhurst College Invitational on Thursday.
