Men's Golf competes at difficult St. Francis Spring Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Evan Rabas shot rounds in the 70s and Bill Jones shot a team-low 76 at the difficult two-round St. Francis Spring Invitational on Friday afternoon at Cherry Hill and Autumn Ridge Golf Clubs.

Rabas (sophomore, Sherwood, Wis.) carded a 156 total (77-79) and Jones (junior, New Holstein, Wis.) also shot a 156 total (80-76) to pace the Falcons with a tied for 23rd position. CUW shot a 633 team total (318-315) to take eighth place out of 12 teams.

Lindenwood-Belleville won the team trophy with a team score of 603 (303-300), while Anthony Slater (Lindenwood-Belleville) was the medalist with a 1-under-par 143 total (74-69). He was the only golfer to shoot a sub-70 round.

Freshman P.J. Clemins (Cedarburg, Wis.) and sophomore Nolan Dahlberg (Beloit, Wis.) shot a 160 (81-79) and 164 (83-81), respectively, to place in a tied for 43rd and 53rd. As well, senior Chris Payne (Waukesha, Wis.) rounded out the team lineup for CUW with a 168 (80-88) total to tie for 63rd.

CUW returns to the course on Saturday for the Wisconsin Lutheran College Spring Invitational at Morning star Golfer's Club, followed by the Lake Forest College Spring Invitational on Sunday at White Deer Run Golf Course.
