
Men’s Golf Wraps Up Conference Play
AURORA, Ill. - Monday saw the Falcons complete the fourth and final round of 18 in the NACC Championships at the Stonebridge Country Club.
As a team, the Blue and White totaled 333 strokes in the round, their lowest of any round of the NACC Championships, for a total of 1,368 strokes, placing them in eighth.
Meanwhile, the host school, Aurora, took first with a team aggregate score of 1,182 strokes.
Junior Nico Murgas-Bennett (Hartford, Wis.) posted the best score of the day for CUW, totaling 79 strokes, including a birdie on the fifth hole, for an aggregate score of 338, good for a 21st finish overall.
Meanwhile, junior Joshua Samsell (Bay City, Mich.) recorded a score of 83 shots, shaving a stroke off of yesterday's performance. In total, Samsell finished tied for 24th with an overall score of 341 through 72 holes of play.
Two strokes behind Samsell was junior Tyler Yaun (Rockton, Ill.), who headed into the clubhouse with a total of 85 strokes. Yaun also recorded a birdie. With Monday's score, Yaun recorded an overall score of 347 and tied for 28th overall.
Sophomore Trevor Wotring (Johnsburg, Ill.) and senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) rounded out the Falcons' lineup, scoring 93 and 86, respectively. Notably, Sherman cut his score by 12 strokes from Sunday to Monday.
CUW will wrap up its season on April 26th at the Viking Invitational, hosted by Augustana.
