Jordan Johnson is Named an Academic All-American

MEQUON, Wis. – On Wednesday morning, Jordan Johnson was named to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Men's Basketball Academic All-American Men's Third Team, announced by College Sports Information Directors of America.

"Being named an Academic All-American is a great accomplishment," said Jordan Johnson. "I have spent countless hours on my studies and in the gym, so it is great to see my hard work pay off. I want to thank my coaches, teammates, family, and professors. Without all their guidance and support, I would not have been able to accomplish this success.

A senior from Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Johnson is claiming the title for the first time in his career. He started in all 12 games this season and led the Falcons with an average of 18.8 points per game in the 2021 season. Johnson also averaged 6.4 rebounds per game with 77 on the season. He shot a blistering 84.5 percent from the free-throw line in 2021 and added 18 assists, 13 steals and three blocks to the stat sheet.

This year, Johnson became the all-time leading point scorer in program history. He broke the record in an 81-57 victory at MSOE. Breaking the record in only 92 games.

Johnson is a four-time All-NACC selection.

The Cedarburg native has a 3.70 grade-point average, with a degree in psychology.

The 15-man men's squad has a 3.84 average grade-point average.

Concordia Wisconsin is one of two schools in NCAA Division III to have a representative on the men's and women's teams. Emily Hafemann was a second-team selection. Illinois Wesleyan was the other school to achieve the accomplishment.

The 2020-21 Academic All-American® Men's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
