Falcons no match for Warriors

Milwaukee

After a pair of solid wins, it appeared CUW might be finding a team defensive identity. Somewhere on the way to Milwaukee Saturday afternoon, that identity was stolen by Wisconsin Lutheran

Entering Saturday night's contest with a 1-5 record, the hustling Warriors shut off the passing lanes and smothered CUW's inside game. They ran past the Falcons by opening up a 44- 32 halftime lead and never looking back on the way to an 86- 63 pasting.

On offense the hosts hit 12 of 28 from beyond the arc and 14 of 17 from the line while holding CUW to a feeble 32% from the field. When the Falcons have to resort to outside shooting, the results have been largely disappointing. Saturday's 6-28 (21%) proved impossible to overcome.

WLC forward Sam Siemers torched the Falcons with 35 points and his bookend Kyle Madson added 20. Concordia starters shot a collective 25% and only reserve Cory Stark (5-5) had any offensive success. Shawn Cassidy's team fell to 5-4 on the season and 2-1 in the NAC while Lutheran won their second straight.
