CUW earns important split 7-6

Aurora, IL

Splitting Saturday's doubleheader was crucial for the Falcons, who have more than held their own against the teams battling them for a NAC Championship.

In Saturday's second game CUW came back from a 4-3 deficit with 4 tallies over the final 3 frames to post a huge win.

Daniel Mueller tripled and scored on an error to tie the game 4-4 in the 7th.

CUW got a pair of runs in the 8th on a two out infield error which allowed Dan Shea and Jonathon Olla to trot home.

Aurora got one back in their half of the inning before Concordia got what proved to be the winner on a scarifice fly by Olla in the 9th that scored Austin Sarauer.

The Spartans had the potential game-tying run thrown out at third base to end the game.

Matt Schilter, Sarauer, Shea, and Olla each had two hits for CUW. Brent Behling picked up his third win with help from Matt Mayer.
Concordia and Aurora are both 7-3 in league play after saturday's action.
