Falcons earn 8-7 comeback win in NAC opener

Mequon

Rallying from a 5-0 second inning deficit, Concordia pulled out an 8-7 win over Rockford in their 2010 conference inaugural today.

CUW got 3 runs back in the bottom of the third via a 2 run double by Matt Schilter and a single tally single by Adam Martz.

Concordia tied the game in the fifth on run scoring singles by Austin Sarauer and Dan Shea before taking the lead thanks to a pair of Regent errors and Sarauer's two out single.

What proved to be the winning run came home on a Martz single in the Falcon eighth. Rockford rallied in the ninth but but reliever Matt Mayer induced a fly ball to right for the final out as CUW hung on for the win.

Derrick Pankow (4-0) got credited for the win as CUW improved to 6-5 on the season and 1-0 in the NAC.
