Falcon drop non-conference tilt to St. Norbert 8-4
West Bend
"It was one of those nights," offered head coach Val Keiper who had
watched his Falcons hit 8 separate line drives directly into the
gloves of Green Knight infielders. "We had a lot of 'at'em' balls
but that's part of the game and you'd rather have those in non-
conference play."
Concordia (17-11 overall) still managed 11 hits, three each by Adam
Martz and Ryan Schilter, but St. Norbert used a 6 run 4th to secure
the victory.
CUW's Ryan Baglow was tagged for all 6 of those runs in relief of
Cory Stark who pitched a trio of shutout frames.
Veiper's team will have a huge weekend, traveling to Edgewood for a
Saturday twin bill, hosting WLC for a pair of games in West Bend on
Sunday, and playing another doubleheader in Watertown against
Maranatha on Monday. "Those six games will determine our
tournament status," explained Keiper.
CUW currently is in second position in the conference, boasting an
11-3 mark that is second only to Rockford's 13-3 record.
