Jeremy Crawford Named Director of Athletic Communications

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin Director of Athletics Dr. Rob Barnhill announced Jeremy Crawford as the Director of Athletic Communications.

"I am pleased to announce that Jeremy Crawford has been promoted to the position of Director of Athletics Communication," said Barnhill. "I have had the opportunity to witness Jeremy on a daily basis since his arrival a few years ago and I believe that he has earned the opportunity to captain the athletics communication ship. He has some big shoes to fill but I am confident that he will exceed our expectations."

Crawford has been a member of the CUW Athletic Communications staff since October 2018. He has served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.

"It is an honor to get to run the Athletic Communications office here at Concordia," said Crawford. "Over the past few years, I have found a home here at CUW. I have the pleasure to work with amazing people here at Concordia. I feel the people at Concordia Wisconsin are its greatest strength, from the administration, coaches, student-athletes and our student workers. We have an amazing family here and I feel blessed to get to promote these individuals."

A native of Grandville, Michigan, Crawford graduated from Michigan State University in 2014, with a degree in elementary education. At Michigan State, he worked for the MSU Athletic Communications Office for all four years of his undergraduate studies and served as the intern for a year after graduation. As the Staff Assistant, he was the primary contact for the women's tennis and swimming & diving teams. He was also the secondary contact for women's basketball and assisted with other varsity programs. The Michigan native also assisted with broadcasts for ESPN and Big Ten Network.

After Michigan State, he then accepted the Assistant Sports Information Coordinator position at Calvin University in the summer of 2015. In his three years at Calvin College, he helped run three NCAA Division III National Championships in the 2015 and 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships and the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship. Crawford helped boost the Calvin Athletics' social media accounts and helped promote teams that helped win three-straight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletics Association Commissioner's Cups. He helped market 31 teams that won conference titles and 25 teams that competed in the NCAA Division III championships, including the 2016 women's volleyball team that won the national title and one NCAA Elite 90 recipient in Alyssa Scholten.

Entering his third year at CUW, Crawford has worked as the primary contact for 17 programs. Over the past two years at Concordia Wisconsin, he has provided coverage for the softball, men's basketball, men's lacrosse and women's volleyball teams as they won conference championships. Crawford has also traveled to CIT where he has witnessed the men's basketball and dance programs win titles. He also helped oversee the 2020 NACC Indoor Track & Field Championships in February. Crawford also helped boost the CUW social media platforms during the 2019-20 season.

Crawford is also a member of College Sports Information Directors of America.

"Once again I would like to thank Dr. Barnhill for this opportunity," said Crawford. " I am very excited to continue to get to work and cover our amazing student-athletes and programs here at CUW. I love this school and I will work hard every day to provide the best coverage."
