
2019-20 Stories of the Year (No. 7) Goucher and Curran shine at NACC Indoor Track & Field Championship
MEQUON, Wis. - The 2019-20 athletic year was another successful one for the Concordia Wisconsin Athletic Department. The Falcons won and contended for conference championships in many sports and put together an impressive list of great achievements. As in years past, the Department of Athletic Communications tries to sort through all the great moments and give you, the fans, top stories from the past year.
The list of stories was compiled by the Department of Athletic Communications and, like all lists, is subject to debate. The top stories will be revealed over the next four weeks, with a story being released on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The top story will be released on May 20.
No. 7 Story of the Year
Goucher and Curran shine at NACC Indoor Track & Field Championship
The CUW women's track & field team finished in third place at the NACC Indoor Track & Field Championships at Carthage College in February.
Junior Alden Goucher (Port Charlotte, Fla.) was the individual title in the triple jump with a mark of 11.29 meter. She was also fifth in the 400-meter dash at 1:01.21. Goucher also earned an eighth-place mark of 4.83 meters in the long jump. She was also in the 4x400 meter relay, CUW finished in fourth place at 4:25.23 with the team of junior Megan Sprinkman (Kohler, Wis.), sophomore Mackenzie Larsen (Appleton, Wis.), Lindsay Pluister (Woodridge, Ill.).
Junior Megan Curran (Spring Grove, Ill.) broke the school record in the shot put at 12.88 meters in second place. In fifth place was Alyssa Knier at 11.22 meters. Curran also placed second in the weight throw at 16.00 meters.
