No. 3 Story of the Year

Women's Volleyball captures pair of titles

Not one or two or even three, but four-consecutive Concordia Invitational Volleyball Tournament (CIVT) titles for the Concordia Wisconsin Women's Volleyball program. No other Concordia that has competed in the tournament has ever accomplished the feat. Over the course of the four-peat, they won seven of the nine matches played by a 3-0 score. They outscored the opposition 724-554 and held the foes on the other side of the net to 15 points or fewer in five sets.

This was all during the opening weekend of the 2019 season that helped give the Falcons the confidence and momentum to go on and win their third Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) regular-season title in the past four years on October 30.

The Falcons have built the foundation, reputation and expectation that trophies would be added to the trophy case yearly. They ended in a three-way tie for the NACC regular-season championship with a 10-2 record and earned the second seed. Concordia Wisconsin advanced to the NACC Tournament Championship for the fourth consecutive year as well.

They ranked top-3 in the NACC statistically in seven different categories and were 49th nationally in opponent hitting percentage (.123). Of their 22 victories, 12 ended in a 3-0 sweep. It was also the seventh time in program history the win total exceeded 20. During the Falcons 22 victories, they recorded a hitting percentage of .226 and dialed up an averaged of 8.9 service aces per win.

Overall, the senior class of Natalie Lutz, Holly Anderson, Arianna Richmond, Kelsey Kleba, Kendall Stribling and Megan Mayer concluded their careers as the second most successful class in program history with an overall record of 92-30, which included a 42-4 record in NACC play.
