Tatum, Sauvey's school records lead Women's Track & Field at Benedictine

LISLE, Ill. – Throwers Karli Tatum and Colleen Sauvey set school records in the shot put and hammer throw to pace the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Track & Field teams at the Benedictine Relays this past weekend.

THE BASICS
- Location: Benedictine Track – Lisle, Ill.
- Individual Champion: Nicole Larson (pole vault – 3.65 meters), Nora Imperl (5K - 18:08.32)
- School Records: Tatum (Shot Put – 13.11 meters), Sauvey (Hammer Throw – 46.25 meters)

HIGHLIGHTS
- Sauvey (De Pere, Wis.) shattered her previous PR in the hammer throw by about four meters to finish third in the event. Her toss of 46.25 meters beat Andrea Kassees' record, which was set last season. Sauvey is now ranked 46th nationally in the event.

- Tatum (Milwaukee, Wis.) placed third in the shot put with her school record throw of 13.11 meters, which ranks her 17th nationally as well. She bested her own school record, which was 12.32 meters, set earlier this season.

- Larson (Milwaukee, Wis.) won the pole vault after clearing 3.65 meters. She was the lone individual champion for the Falcons as the meet featured several teams, with some events reaching 50-plus competitors.

- Imperl added a win in the 5,000-meter run in impressive fashion. Imperl won the race by a full minute with a PR time of 18:08.32.

- Freshman Chloe Eckstein (Reedsville, Wis.) posted a pair of top-five finishes for the Falcons. She was second in the discus (38.88 meters), while finishing fifth in the javelin (29.85 meters).
