Women's Track & Field third at Private College Championships

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Nicole Larson broke the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Track & Field outdoor pole vault record and the Falcons finished third as a team at the Private College Championships Saturday. The meet was hosted by Carroll University in frigid temperatures.

THE BASICS
- Falcons Team Score: 90 points (3rd of 12)
- Meet Location: Carroll University – Waukesha, Wis.
- Individual Champions: Nicole Larson (Pole Vault - School Record – 3.76 meters), Nora Imperl (1,500-meter run – 4:55.16)
Team Champion: St. Norbert (198.5 points) 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Larson (Milwaukee, Wis.) cleared 3.76 meters in her first outdoor action of the season. Freshman teammate Jennifer Miller (Freedom, Wis.) placed third in the event by clearing 3.18 meters.

- Imperl (Greenfield, Wis.) ran a 4:55.16 in the 1,500-meter run to claim the individual title in that event. She won the race by six seconds. Imperl was also sixth in the 800-meter run on Saturday. Freshman Molly Wirtz (Stevens Point, Wis.) was sixth in the 1,500.

- Miller added a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash on Saturday, sprinting across the finish line in 13.23 seconds. Her teammate, junior Coleen Sauvey (De Pere, Wis.) was just behind at 13.25 seconds.

- CUW had a pair of top-five finishers in the 5,000-meter run in sophomores Ashley Scheele (Kohler, Wis.) and Bethany Coop (Mora, Minn.). Scheele ran a 19:11.77, while Coop was just behind at 19:13.56.

- Sophomore Moira Kilgas (Omro, Wis.) posted a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing the race in 17 seconds.

- Freshman Morgan Marnholtz (Merrill, Wis.) finished second in the triple jump at the meet. Marnholtz leaped 10.36 meters for her runner-up finish.

- The Falcons throwers had some strong performances, led by a third-place finish by freshman Chloe Eckstein (Reedsville, Wis.) in the discus. Eckstein landed a throw of 37.30 meters. Senior Karli Tatum (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished fifth in the shot put at 11.57 meters.
