WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin sophomore distance runner Cassandra Sprotte has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Sprotte (Abbotsford, Wis.) set a new PR in the mile by 12 seconds, posting a time of 5:14.5 at the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday. She finished second in the race, which featured a total of 42 runners, and her time ranks second in the NACC this season.

Sprotte also took part in the 4X400-meter relay, teaming with Molly Wirtz, Carolyn Ardnt and Morgan Marnholtz. The 4X400 squad placed fifth in the event, running a 4:15.76.

The weekly award was the third for the Falcons Track & Field program this season, and second for the Women's team. Nicole Larson and Tyler White have also earned weekly honors.

The Falcons will be back in action Saturday, taking part in the Titan Challenge, hosted by UW-Oshkosh.
