Women's Track & Field opens outdoor season at Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Track & Field team opened its outdoor season this past weekend with a spring break trip to Wake Forest University. The Falcons competed against several Division I athletes and had several PRs to open the season.

THE BASICS
- Falcons Score: No Team Scores were kept
- School Records: Karli Tatum (Shot Put - 12.32 meters) 

NOTABLES
- Senior Karli Tatum (Milwaukee, Wis.) had a strong meet for the Falcons competing in both the hammer throw and the shot put. Tatum broke her own school record in the shot put, landing a throw of 12.32 meters, which ranks first in the NACC and sixth in NCAA Division III. She also landed 41.89 meters in the hammer throw, ranking her tops in the NACC and 21st nationally.

- Sophomore Nora Imperl (Greenfield, Wis.) had a big PR in the 1500 for the Falcons. Imperl ran a 4:57.47, which was a 42-second improvement from her previous best time.

- Sophomore Beth Garncarz (Milwaukee, Wis.) added a nice PR of her own in the hammer throw as she recorded a toss of 38.90 meters. That mark was over four meters better than her previous PR.

- Sophomore Chloe Bachman (St. Peter, Minn.) had a nice debut for the Falcons, joining the team for the outdoor season after being a member of the Women's Hockey team during the winter. She ran PR times in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes with times of 13.68 and 28.71, respectively.

UP NEXT
- CUW will take next weekend off before taking part in the Sherman/Lukoski Invite April 2. The meet, which will be hosted by Ripon College, is set for a 10 am start.
