HOW IT HAPPENED
- The stress had been mounting and the nerves were obvious before Saturday's 10 am match against Edgewood, a team Concordia Wisconsin had defeated during a nail-biting 5-4 decision to win the NACC Tournament Championship just over four months prior.
- It didn't take long to realize the Falcons were ready to take care of business, winning all three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead in the match. The No. 1 and 2 pairings each earned 8-3 decision wins.
- In singles play it was junior Elizabeth Carroll (Hartford, Wis.) who shined with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over her No. 4 singles opponent. As well, sophomore Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) and junior Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.) each won by a 6-2, 6-2 score.
- During the afternoon league match versus the Sabres, it was more of the same during doubles play. Concordia Wisconsin jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, which included an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles by Jacobsen and senior Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.).
- Marian earned wins at No. 1 and 2 singles, but the rest of the matches were handled by the Falcons. Freshman Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.) had a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles and sophomore Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
- The Falcons have won 15-consecutive NACC matches dating back to the start of last season. Moreso, they have lost just one league match since September 24, 2013 and are 25-1 during that span.
- Carroll and Kelly are the only two on the roster who remain undefeated in singles play at 6-0.
- The pairing of Jacobsen and Wagner haven't lost a doubles match all season.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons travel to St. Peters, Minn., on for the USTA/ITA Regional Championship on Sept. 23-24.
