Falcons Lasso Lawrence

APPLETON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's tennis team stood tall in one of the final tests of the regular season on Wednesday at Lawrence. The Falcons improved to 18-6 on the year with the 9-0 victory at Lawrence.

The sensational senior squad of Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) sprinted out to an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.

The dynamic duo of senior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and junior Mya Werning (Watertown, Wis.) picked up an 8-2 victory at No. 2 doubles.

At No. 3 doubles, the fantastic freshman duo of Morgan Chyla (Salem Lake, Wis.) and Sofia Buhr (Blumenau, Brazil) sank the Vikings, 8-5.

Ashley Samuta secured a speedy 6-0, 6-1 victory over Logan Kane at No. 3 singles.

Morgan Chyla chopped up Fanta Jatta at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Wednesday marked the first singles victory for Chyla at Concordia.

Mya Werning wrapped up Maddie Bublik at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-0.

Ricki Budewitz bounced Chloe Lamb at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0.

At No. 2 singles, Sofia Buhr boxed up Anna Vanden Acker, 6-1, 6-1.

Mia Andrae closed the match with a 6-0, 7-5 victory at No. 4 singles to secure the sweep.

The Falcons close the regular season on Thursday against Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
