Brew's shutouts earn NACC Men's Soccer Weekly award

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer goalkeeper Alec Brew has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the events of October 5-11. The league announced the weekly honors on Monday.

Brew (Appleton, Wis.) had a perfect week in leading the Falcons to a pair of 1-0 NACC wins. He stopped eight shots over the two victories, including five in a Wednesday win at Benedictine. He then added three stops in a 1-0 win over Edgewood Saturday, moving the Falcons to 4-1 in league play.

Brew now has five shutouts on the season in 11 starts. He owns a .882 save percentage and a 0.59 goals against average. His save percentage leads all players in the NACC, while the goals against average number ranks second in the conference. He also ranks 19th nationally in save percentage and 33rd in goals against average.

Brew and the Falcons will be back in action Wednesday when they begin a three-match homestand. The Falcons will host Rockford Wednesday with a 4 p.m. start time.
