Field Hockey Trio Claims All-SAA Honors

MEQUON, Wis. – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) announced All-Conference teams for field hockey on Thursday afternoon.

The Falcons landed Leah Mouganis on the All-SAA First Team and senior Sophia Vandeloecht and Halli Schneiderwendt on the All-SAA Second Team.

Leah Mouganis was also voted as the SAA Newcomer of the Year.

A freshman from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Leah Mouganis is claiming her first SAA honor. As a defender, she anchored one of the strongest defenses in the conference. She finished the season with five defensive saves.

Mouganis also scored the game-winning goal against Oberlin.

She is the fourth Falcon to be voted the SAA Newcomer of the Year, joining Callie Neumann in 2017, Megan McPike in 2018 and Lori Pitock in 2019.

A senior midfielder from St. Louis, Missouri, Sophia Vandeloecht is also claiming her first SAA honor.

Vandeloecht scored the game-winning goal against Sewanee in October. She also had an assist and defensive save against Marian.

A senior goaltender from Appleton, Wisconsin, Halli Schneiderwendt is also claiming her first All-SAA honor.

Schneiderwendt leads the conference at 7.38 saves per game. So far on the season, she has 96 saves and a 3.03 goals-against average. She has two shutouts on the season against Transylvania and Sewanee.
