Transylvania Takes a Shootout Victory

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Concordia Wisconsin field hockey fell short on Sunday at Transylvania. The Pioneers picked up a 1-0 victory after winning the shootout, 2-1. The Falcons move to 2-9 with the loss.

The Falcons peppered the Transylvania net with six shots in the first half. Senior Abby McGue (St. Louis, Mo.) had four shots in the first half.

Concordia also added three shots in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons added four shots and three penalty corners in the overtime session.

Transylvania started the shootout with a goal.

Sophomore Katelyn Cardinale (Mt. Laurel, N.J.) scored in the fourth round to tie the shootout

The Pioneers scored in the fourth round to take the 2-1 lead.

Senior Halli Schneiderwendt (Appleton, Wis.) secured three saves on Sunday.

Senior Sarita Arsham (Houston, Texas) had a defensive save in the loss.  

The Falcons return to action on Sunday at Kenyon.
