MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's volleyball team improved to 6-1 in conference play on Thursday night, taking a 3-0 victory over the MSOE to mark its nineteenth consecutive win over the Raiders. The win on the program's annual "Dig Pink Night" marked the Falcons' seventh straight-sets victory of the 2023 campaign, pushing their season record to 11-9.

The Falcons were largely able to control the pace of play throughout the entire match, allowing the Raiders to serve only five times with a lead. Although they managed to draw near to even as the sets unfolded, Concordia staved off their resilience and cruised to the 3-0 victory.

The first set saw Concordia play with a comfortable lead for its duration, but a 5-0 run to end the frame officially notched the win. A service ace by sophomore Stella Zarling (West Bend, Wis.) was the final piece that gave the Falcons the set by a 25-16 score.

The Falcons continued their dominance in the second set, never allowing MSOE to take a lead despite five ties early on. As Concordia inched towards victory, the Raiders were able to build up a decent run late in the set, taking five consecutive rallies while facing game point. Ultimately, it was a service error that effectively ended the comeback and granted the Falcons a 25-20 margin to take a 2-0 lead.

The Raiders were able to hang around with Concordia as the third set began, transferring their momentum from the end of the second. MSOE managed to lead as far into the set as 7-6 before Concordia went on a dominant run, outscoring the Raiders 21-7 to take a 25-14 victory. Sophomore Jaydin Vosters (Neenah, Wis.) and senior Maycee Karpfinger (Wauwatosa, Wis.) both registered kills down the stretch, adding to their match totals of 5 and 14, respectively.

Sophomore Abby Proefrock (Grafton, Wis.) led the team with 15 digs, bringing her season sum to 303.

The Falcons will be back in action on Saturday at home against Concordia Chicago.
