NAC All Conference awards announced

Milwaukee, Wis.- The Northern Athletics Conference has announced the awards for the 2011 volleyball season and for the second-straight season Maranatha's Torey DeLozier was named NAC Player of the Year. The awards, voted on by the league's head coaches, include first and second All-NAC Teams, honorable mention selections, All-Freshman Team, All-Sportsmanship Team, and the major awards of NAC Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Freshman of the Year.

The All-Sportsmanship Team included one member from each school and was chosen based on the principles of sportsmanship as promoted by the NAC and NCAA. Senior Amy Gray (Urbana, Ill.) was Concordia Wisconsin's representative.

DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) is looking to become the nation's attack and scoring leader for the second-straight season, as she currently leads NCAA Division III with 6.45 kills and 7.31 points per set. The junior outside hitter was named to the All-NAC First Team for the third time and helped the Crusaders to a 7-5 record in conference play and 20-6 overall record this season.

MSOE's Kathleen Collingbourne (East Dundee, Ill.) was named Defensive Player of the Year. The senior libero, also a first team selection, leads the league with 5.12 digs per set and became the conference's all-time leader with 2,029 career digs for the Raiders (9-20, 2-10 NAC) this season.

Benedictine's Abby Sattler (Chilton, Wis.) led the six-member All-Freshman team and was named Freshman of the Year. The rookie setter is third in the league with an 8.66 assists per set average and had a season-high 58 in a four-set win at Rockford.
