Women’s Tennis claims ITA academic honors

MEQUON, Wis.  - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2020 Division III Women ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams. Academia is a key aspect of the college tennis experience. Collegiate tennis players add to the rich intellectual community found on college campuses across the nation.

Sophomore Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.), freshman Alaina Hazelberg (Mayville, Wis.), sophomore Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.), sophomore Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.), sophomore Ashley Saniter (Beaver Dam, Wis.), senior Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) and freshman Julia Vitale (Elm Grove, Wis.) all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

In total, 1058 student-athletes claimed the title.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.

The Falcons also earned ITA All-Academic Team honors during the 2019-20 season. They were one of 175 teams to claim the honor

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
