Women’s Tennis stays perfect in NACC at Marian

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The CUW women's tennis team remained perfect in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with an 8-1 victory at Marian. The win pushes the Falcons to 7-1 on the season and 5-0 in the NACC.

Freshman Antonina Sanna (Clinton Township, Mich.) and sophomore Ashley Saniter (Beaver Dam, Wis.) struck first with an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.

At No. 2 doubles, sophomore Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and senior Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) took care of business with an 8-6 victory.

Freshman Julia Vitale (Elm Grove, Wis.) and sophomore Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) brought out the brooms in doubles play with an 8-4 victory on court one.

Ricki Budewitz kept Emma Lewandowski off the scoreboard at No. 1 singles, with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Sophomore Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.) set down Mackenzie Meyers at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-2.

Antonina Sanna silenced Carly Paulson at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-1.

Julia Vitale was victorious over Aubree Helstad at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

At No. 4 singles, sophomore Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) fell short to Bruce, 6-2, 0-6, 12-10.

Rebekah Spiegelhoff finished the day at No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Sarah Mereness.

The Blue and White remain atop the NACC standings at 5-0. Edgewood is also undefeated at 4-0 in NACC play.

The Falcons resume play with home matches on Saturday against Wisconsin Lutheran and Alverno.
