Edgewood stings Women’s Tennis

MADISON, Wis. – Edgewood took control of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with a 6-3 victory over the Falcons on Saturday. The Falcons finish the NACC season with an 8-1 record. Edgewood improves to 7-0 in the NACC.

The Eagles won the first point of the morning at No. 2 doubles.

Freshman Antonina Sanna (Clinton Township, Mich.) and sophomore Ashley Saniter (Beaver Dam, Wis.) won at No. 3 doubles, 8-6.

Sophomore Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and freshman Julia Vitale (Elm Grove, Wis.) gave the Falcons the lead with an 8-7 (10-8) victory at No. 1 doubles.

Sophomore Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.) collected the lone singles victory at No. 2 singles, defeating Alyssa Carew, 7-5, 6-3.

The Falcons close the fall season with a 10-2 record.
